Inpatient Treatment Overview

Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential Services for adults. Individuals with chronic addictions are professionally treated and the Gaiser Center is co-occurring capable. Patients in this level are able to tolerate and use full active milieu or therapeutic communities. Services offered are described as co-occurring capable and we are staffed by trained professionals offering addiction treatment, mental health, and general medical personnel who provide a range of services in a 24-hour treatment setting.


We believe that substance use disorders are treatable chronic conditions.

We believe that addiction is a biological, psychosocial disease which disrupts cognitive, psychological, physical and spiritual development.

We believe that recovery is possible through professional treatments, the use of recovery supports and often times medical assisted treatments.

We believe gender-based treatments provide superior outcomes to co-ed programs.

Our PRIMARY treatment GOALS

Stabilization, education and treatment using evidence-based treatments as recommended by SAMSHSA for drug and alcohol treatment and recovery. We offer varying length of stays from a few weeks up to 90 days or longer depending upon INDIVIDUAL need and progress in treatment. For individuals to achieve sustained abstinence from destructive substances/behaviors to promote healing and recovery. To improve the lives of EACH person treated by the Gaiser Center. Help individuals to enhance social roles, interests and hobbies, and other meaningful activities within their communities.

The Basics

Trauma-informed environment and trauma-informed staff. Medication Assisted Treatment Kitchen, laundry, and recreation facilities are all on site. Fitness Center and Yoga classes. Individual and group counseling. Attendance of AA and NA meetings in the local recovery community offered. Supportive and safe environment that promotes change in the client's lifestyle. Work with the client to identify outside barriers to recovery. Provide HIV / Hepatitis / TB / STD education and testing. Utilization of a multi-disciplinary approach to persons with a mental health diagnosis (in addition to their addiction).

The Gaiser Addiction Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization, licensed by the PA Department of Health, Division of Drug and Alcohol licensing, dedicated to the treatment of addiction. The Gaiser Center has been helping chemically dependent individuals since 1971.
