George Rutherford
Counselor
George Rutherford is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He earned a BS in Speech Communication from Clarion University and an MAT from Sacred Heart University. He began his career as a counselor for juveniles in 2005.
George has been with the Gaiser Center since 2023, where he worked as an inpatient counselor in the men’s program. In his current role, he actively serves as a forensic therapist for both Butler and Greene County prisons. This includes providing individual and group therapy for incarcerated clients in the addiction treatment track.
As a therapist, George's primary areas of focus are trauma, working with families, and the neurobiology of chemical dependence.
George has been with the Gaiser Center since 2023.
