Casey Hoak
Counselor
Casey Hoak is the Outpatient Clinical Lead at the Gaiser Center. In 2010, Casey graduated from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She then earned a master’s degree in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2011. Since 2012, Casey has worked in various roles helping individuals who struggle with substance use. In 2015, she was hired by the Gaiser Center as an outpatient counselor, then promoted to Clinical Lead in 2021. Casey has a special interest in addressing trauma by understanding how traumatic experiences can impact a person. This has led her to maintain a Clinical Trauma Professional Certification since 2017 and become a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor through the Pennsylvania Certification Board in 2018. She is currently working toward becoming certified in tobacco cessation. She provides support to the outpatient clinical team, facilitates group sessions, conducts individual therapy, and completes thorough drug and alcohol assessments. Casey remains passionate about using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to explore techniques individuals find beneficial for their own healing journey.
Casey has been with the Gaiser Center since 2015.
